I don't know for 400 pounds, but for about 150 euros, I can recommend AKG K241 - the best monitors for the price. I am looking forward to buying them, just to give you this note.

cheers peps,
@Ghost: yeh its a small room so your prob right about v6 rather than v8, the v8's do look quite big......v6 is looking like a real good option to me, all the specs seem good and loads of peps have told me they're really good for the price.
mackie hr824s......these are the monitors im eventually hoping to buy, logistics, chase and status plus loads other dnb pro's use these.....really accurate apparently.

I used to produce with Sennheiser HD 212 pro's but that's consumer stuff with boomy basses.
Now I'm producing mainly on monitors (easier on the ears too).

good review in sound on sound about em, specs look good and for the price (about £350 - £400 from what ive seen) id say they were a bargain, plus they're active...always a good thing in my book

I have the KRK RP 6 which is what i THINK your refering to because the V6 & V8 series are discontinued.(at least at zzounds they are...)
so anyhow. The KRK rp6's are great for a small room the work good in my room.
11' 8'' Long X 9' 7'' Wide X 8' Tall is my room and they work wonders. i do need some sound reinforcment and what not but i know next to nothing about that stuff... or how to go about figuring out what i need.

Im considering those monitors myself.
They worth the money? |
I A-B listened them in the shop for some time... the other pair was Krk Rockit V8.
I took the Yamaha's because of the better filled out low end which sounded realistic (and not boomy) without the use of a sub. The only problem I have now is that the room in which I use them is pretty small and for good results I would need at least a 50cm distance from all walls especially for bass. But I can't get to this distance so the bass could be better. I don't think buying any other monitors would solve that problem fully though.
I never even considered buying a sub because it would not work in a small room and it would get the neighbours mad.
