You can vote for more than one track if you can't decide. To do this, put up to 3 checkmarks in front of the tracks you'd like to vote for and then click on 'vote'. You can only place your vote(s) once!!
Try to be as objective as possible, judge the overall quality of the tracks regardless of the style.
Feel free to give comments on this months selection in this thread. If you'd like to write a review of a track, don't do it here, but in the track's own thread!
The results will be announced in a week and the winner will get a spot on the front page of the site, as well as a free master of the winning track!!
Poll ends 30th of january. If it's a tie, we'll make it a few days longer

Yeah I guess your right, Its just that the version up here makes me cringe a bit, really ruff and ready, but yeah if this is the version from October then thats the one that counts. Worth asking though.
Either way, Pooki will probably win, fucking good track, not my kinda thing but really well done. Havent heard yours yet, I'll check it out now.
I was suprised by the rather large amount of quality tracks in october. Normally I have like 5-6 tracks I really wanna put up there, but for october there were like 14 I wanted to include!
to all those who supplied these great tracks, too bad I can't cram all your tracks in there!

cjstyles: this guy is awesome. The first time I heard one of his songs was 5 weeks ago. I was really impressed!! So I downed all of his tracks here lol
Pooki: This is weird. The first time I hear one of your song. Altho I don’t like the selection of sounds, I love the melody & structure. Bigup

I swear there were tracks I liked better due to their style, but these were better produced. Like that Dave Akuma remix of The Beast. Very good, but when comparing it to these tracks, the mastering fel a bit short...

Indeed. The best track in the world will not work as long as it's mastering is horrible. That said: I didn't say Dave's mastering was horrible, but it could have been better, as he indecated himself. He just never uploaded the mastered version as he promised.
If I feel 2 tracks are equally well produced, but I have to let one go, I'll have to judge on something, and I think mastering is quite good for that!
Also, I have nominated badly mastered tracks in the past when they were very well produced, in cases where there wasn't such an amound of well produced and well masterd tracks.

ok well then i'll search a collaborant. Muad'dib
EQing is just , its like mathemathics , it sucks but you need it to graduate.
but than i rather cheat than working my ass of.
so if i make a (boring) techsteptune with very decent mastering on it , i can be on this list ? ...
I think mastering is quite important. It increases your enjoyment of the tunes as much as anything else. I'll still listen to a badly mastered tune and enjoy it, but its annoying when a tune is to trebley or has a lot of hiss over it. I just think that its not the be all and end all that a lot of people make out. I think a great idea comes through regardless of the quality, and a great idea is what makes a track good, not how much its polished. The old thing, you cant poilsh a turd etc. But a good idea is a good idea. Mastering can then help this good idea become more focused and more comprehendable, while a well mastered shit track just goes to show how shit it really is. I'm always struggling with mastering, I think Im getting better, but the mix on 1000 reasons is pretty dire to be truthful, but I hope that its clear enough to put the ideas across.
Id honestly prefere a good track badly mastered over a bad track well mastered. EQ and Mastering is something you learn, musicallity is something you either have or havent got. I sometimes feel that too much emphasis is placed on mastering on this website. Surely the main criterea for a track is whether the idea is cool, does the bass line work, is there a nice melody, are the drums rolliing well etc. But a lot of the time the first few line of a review are about the quality of the mix. Sure that plays a part, but I think its far more important to have a great track to start with, otherwise there isnt any point spending ages on a master.
