Please check out my new track 'A Tune For Today' and post your comments here!
Hey guys. Spectral here. This tune was a target I set myself to start and finish a tune in one day. As such it's a little rough around the edges, but I wanted to get some feedback so I can decide whether or not to carry on and re-produce it properly.
Nice mix, man, drums are tight, synths are nice, only less or no sub beneath it. So i would add some extra sub warmth, vocal cuts are nice too. Thnx for reviewing.
Rspct
love the vocals, and the saw synth there.
would like to see a more heavy drop in this.
also the bass needs some more work, but for something thats made in one sounds really good.
would love to hear this finished got great potential!
damn this track is good.....but man it is missing something... just cant put my hands on it....im liking the sample from the girl .....but once she is off the track it kinda dies......
it sounds dope tho just needs something....
but it is good man keep up that movement..
maybe change it up little too........
drop in a phat bass ...i have listen to this song like ten times just to review it...
i am also going to be posting up some music ...so check me out....nooses
hope my review helped a little
i think i will give it a five star so that more people can check this. out .....keep practicing and keep that drum and bass alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
not a fan of the chopped arppded vocals dont fit to well the stabs sound pretty cheesy if u dont mind me sayin i've got in trouble for sayin it before so i'm being blunt the mid bass is a bit unimaginative as well the track has roll but in a commercial sense something im not realy into , the kick and snare are ok could do with some sort of stronger break behind or syncopation to keep it fresh and moving kind of really watered down sub focus at the mo sorry if it seems harsh what i'm saying but just callin it how i hear it
just realized im not paragraphing sorry
Pusha - no worries bruv, dnb is full of cheesy leads, vocals or whatever, so I'll take it as a compliment. I tend to prefer dnb that has a bit of melody in it, so I just produce what flows out of my brain. I'm not really into some of the proper bonehead dnb that some jump-up producers churn out, although I'd dance to it in a club, it's not really what I'm aiming for musically.
I definitely come under the bonehead category lol when I said cheesy I wasn't referring to the melody more the actual sound it's quite stiff sounding lead if u get what I mean if it had some unison or some sort of expanded on the cut and envelope it would sound a bit bigger I will post a track when I get home to show what I mean .
punchy !
synth programming is really well done, your synth-line that droped à 00:50 is not my kind, but the intro is well done, i like dis vocals, all sounds fits really well together, maybe you should layer something on your line ?
what's your setup ?
Yeah, although I tend to do a rough version of a tune, play it to my mates, maybe upload it for reviews and then see if I should carry on and finish a tune. Only problem is I've got about 25-30 tunes unfinished. Am trying to finish the best four so I can send them off by April 1st. Look forward to hearing some of your stuff. Have had a little look back at some of your older stuff, pretty good. Peace.
Vocal fx are quite nice.. break sounds very dry and flat. Kick needs more body. snare needs to SNAP.
The extreme stereo on your hipitched stabs needs pulling in a bit. or- make your break stereo to balance it.. at the moment the stabs are hanging out there on their own.
Vocal is starting to get annoying @ 1:20 needs more variation (if you can)
Wheres the bass?
I bet if you put it thru a spectral analyser it would be missing a big chunk from the bottom end.
Structure seemed ok.
In summary:
watch your breaks- layers are king!
watch your stereo imaging and placement
keep an eye on the bass freqs and EQ
