Mate, forget dnb, your talents obviously lie in different forms of music. This is a super little sweet track! The style of the vocals is very contemporary. They remind me of Lily Allen at points. (Apologies if that sounds like an insult!
). Like Battle said, this one could go on the radio.
OK, a few minor suggestions/criticisms...
The FX in the intro are slightly weird. For a moment, I thought it was going to turn into a dnb tune. Personally, I would just start it from the beat at 0.10.
The beat patterns are nice and simple but they sound too presetty. Sounds a bit like my old Yahama drum machine.
A few small pitching problems with the vocals at 1.09. You might want to clear them up if you're thinking of sending this to someone.
Nice job though mate. Your tunes are a breath of fresh air.

That's a rough way of saying: stick to guitars mate, for DnB you are not good enough
Agree about the intro though.

Lads, you really do this site a justice by being as involved as you are, the Chron would be proud.
Thanks so much for getting back to me on this one.
I borrowed an electric drum kit and recorded these drums, they're out of time on places and as Tomos pointed out the sample choice isn't great but i just loved develping this keyboard riff, that's how the track was born. The vocals i came up with today and I hope they wont make me reach for a bucket when i listen to them tomorrow.
I very much appreciate the criticism guys, that is after all what helps us progress as artists (not that I'm some kind of Monnet)!!
I'll address the pitching issues which I knew were a problem, I can't remember what key i recorded the keyboard in, i never bother you see, just tune instruments up according to the bass note be it guitar of whatever, its a sloppy approach that means i pay the price once i get something I'm half proud of nearing the mixdown stage, shame..
No intentions to send this or any of my recordings off to people or radio etc, don't know why, if I'm honest they're just not good enough.
@Battle - I'd love to hear a DnB remix of any kind and if you're reading Tomos - mate I'd love to lay down some vocals on anything you might be working on at the mo - very much enjoy your tunes of late.
Good to see more ppl involve their own instruments in their tracks. Cool. There is something wrong with the beat for me. Some off tempo kicks and hits in there imo. Sounds very live-ish. Some of the patterns of the drums could be done differently to achieve more rolling. Some kicks are placed a bit wierdly imo. Anyway, besides drums I really enjoyed this track. Very pop feel and instant happy mood
Fun stuff Glim!
i think this is great and clearly you have a lot of talent in this style. i would stick with it man youl be loaded
seriously though sounds really good. i would work on the singin so that the autotune doesnt sound like its being raped even if you have to do 300 recordings and take the best bits from each, if the vocal sounded better this tune would be a brilliant achievement imo
but thats not sayin its not good
. just a personal thing about that sound
maybe work on the drum quantisation too as some of the hits arnt that tight.
overall though mate if you keep on this stuff it will blow up cus its a crackin little tune
man seriously nice track!
id love to hear this tightend up a bit with slightly bigger drums! send it out! its good enough! better than half the shit you hear these days!
Hahahaha really catchy and commercial as hell. Into needs a bit more. Drums sound a tiny bit empty. Structure is good and all the lines and harmonies are nice. Good voice as well! Would like it better without the autotune and some reverb. Serious potential here!
Very grateful for all your comments, i'll take them all into consideration as i agree with them all!
The autotune vst is a new toy to me, used it for the first time on the day of making this track.
Drums - yeah, they're all over the place timing-wise, i'm new to playing drums and will re-record them if i polished this up again which i will. I'll change the sample choice in my electric drum kit too, as Tomos pointed out they sound a bit 'pre-setty'.
Thanks again for taking the time out to review this track, i know its not what you were expecting to hear on this site.
Well, it's a good track for what it is, but it sounds a lot like an alternative genre. Yes, it is in fact a similar tempo, but not quite the same style as we all want here. I'm not putting this track down, because it's a GREAT track as it is, for alternative genres. reminds me a bit of Owl City ya? I bet if the bass drum had a little less swing it's sound a lot more like DNB.
Although the lyrics give the title a nice catch. It's like, you're getting sucked in by this other person. Lyrics are great! The voice effect reminds me a lot of Daft Punk, which is a nice touch, yes.
It's a good track, don't get me wrong. Great structure and a full sound.
