you can start at any key/pitch/tone, just make sure the scale is right (toonladder in Dutch I think) maybe someone can give you a decent english explanation Tongue

you can play a toonladder on any note, check out which one matches the best ( with a piano or keyboard or whatever...) once you got your scale on the right pitch, you got your perfect pitched melody...

edit: you can play a toonladder on any FULL note Wink

reallly.

just a warning. unless you think its gonna b amazingly better than the original i wouildnt bother. bit of a classic innit.

why do u want to know what key its in?? have you sampled anything from the original?? if so just figure it out.

but if your intending on re creating it ( like a cover version) then pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease dont. i cant see how that would be a wise idea.

yeh classics do get remixed all the time, somethings should just b left alone imo.

anyway. if u want to what key its in, just play the original, set up a synth, and find the root note.

If you don't play at the same pitch/key, make at least the scale is right.

That'ts a bit more easier to understand I hope

But the easiest is off course play the excat same, I think he's using "tertsen" (dutch i knoww....) going up and starting on do/C

Decent translation would be usefull... anybody? Happy

edit: easiest way to find the correct pitch is to play it along with a piano... Pleased (a vst piano works as well off course...)

....especially monophonic melodies...

Dunno if u guys know this but almost all the samples for the valley of the shadows can be found on a free cd which came out with a magazine called FUTURE MUSIC. It did come out a while ago - I think before the tune came out way back when. Anyways on the CD are virtually all of the samples and they are all clean and by themselves. I was amazed when i heard it - i remember thinking "fuk these are all the samples from valley of the shadows". Anyways if u really wanna do a remix - find the CD. Cant get it to u cos those CDs are in England and im now in Japan. hav fun searching..

I do agree with Munki C tho - it`d be hard to do that tune justice
