Sure he's an asshole, but I think death penalty is inhumane. I read that the white house insisted that he had to be executed asap. USA, the defenders of human rights and democracy? I think not.

All you ever hear out of bush' snout: ' It is good for democracy.' Bush has a lot more deaths on his name (Iraqies, Americans, Britains) than Sadam. IF anyone deserves a slow and painfull death, it's prolly him.

I'm a lawyer, and death penalty is crap. + it has been proven that it doesn't reduce the crime, but it increases it. Look the USA.

i was just reading about this on the front page of the paper today and it seems alot of people feel this execution is just going to fire things up more. here's actually a quote from the paper :

"Um Abdullah, a Sunni and teacher in Tikrit, 80 miles north of Baghdad, said she would wear black to mourn the city's favorite son. Saddam will be a hero in our eyes she said. I have five kids and I will teach them to take revenge on Americans"

Seems this is really only the beginning of alot of problems for the US.

Now I never really followed up on this much and I might not know what I'm talkign about, but judging by the US body count in the war now and how it's still climbing at a rapid rate, the whole execution is just going to boost our body count more. somehow i think.
