i'm not sure bout this ; but i think it's best to put ur soundcards eq to zero ; for tracks get rendered out of u software ; not ur soundcard , if u plan on recording live u should set the eq of ur soundcard
sorry of this is totally wrong Big Grin

no youre right. rendering is done strictly on the processor level without using the sound card

modifiyng you souncard eq's will only affect your production if you select that driver in your host software

I personally don't recommend using the eq's on your sound card, cause these are especially made for your sound card, not other soundsystems.

This is the big difference between "more professional audio" EQ (Nuendo) and the Hi-Fi Eq that came with you sound card's driver, which are more made for listening to music than monitoring complex productions...

but it's all a matter of preferences i guess...

If you plan to get that signal out live, without burning it to a file or whatever, you can use your soundcard's EQ and effects, because they are set there for easier control over live performances and recordings on external sources.

If you're mixing for a file, kill your soundcard's EQ. Not only the file won't contain the same sound you're hearing, but you won't even know about it Big Grin since when you will play the tune in winamp, the tune will sound the same because your soundcard eq is on.

i guess you get better result when you disable equalizers of soundcard, amp etc. you can also work with your desired settings though. you just need to know how your system sounds and compare it to professional productions.

anyways, get some monitor speakers....

omg... seriosuly i get baffled everytime i see posts liek this.. caz... newbie.. whomever you may be... why the hell do you even touch your soundcard eq?

and if yore using nuendo... why would yo EVEN BOTHER touching the eqs?

seriously this is ano brainer...

ok.. you should never have to touch your speaker eqs (soundcard) whtaver yo want to call it....

yo only have to eq things when youre working on them in the project... hwo in the hell would changing your eqs on your soundcard make youre track actually sound better...

it wont...

im sorry.. im not gonna say anymore.. im even baffled by some of these responses...

listen man.. and everyone here.. DONT FUCK WITH YOUR SOUNDCARD EQS! all thats gonna do is change how sound comes through your speakers...

YOU DONT WANT THAT>.. you want to change the sound in your SOFTWARE/HARDWARE to make things in your speakers sound BETTER... thats why its called eqing, and mixing, etc etc etc...

argggh im sorry if my posts bother some people.. but comeon... this is seriosuly ridiculous...
