Please check out my new track 'Machines', post your comments here and vote for it!!!

I've been working on this one for a few days, but i cant seem to get the mixdown right. If i lower the volume the whole track loses it's power imo, but i guess it's mixed too loud. I'm not sure 'bout the repetitiveness of the track..

All suggestions in improving the track are welcome and highly appreciated! Big Grin

allthough i think it starts off pretty badly, once it gets going properly it redeems itself it a little. the rave type of business in it ruins it though. especially when it gets housey as well with that four to floor stuff at the end.

if you want to save time, just start listening from 1:25 and stop at 4:18

the middle section is by far the best part of it. the main strength is in the drums, especially the bits when they roll. and there are some nice effects thrown in every now and then.

the instruments were a bit annoying though. and it could have done with having a bit more of a tune to it.

Well, ninja spice has a point. The build up at 04:45 is great, massive. This might be a floor hitter, if you redesign the part after the build ups with another drum loop. Something fast and terrifying, like some tech itch's loop will do.

I already wrote to ya that those gay-euro-dance rave sounds get on my nerves, but that's subjective Big Grin

The start is ok, nice hats loop. The kick is great, maybe a little too loud. The snare lacks some snap, try solving that with a compressor. The 01:04 crash sound is too loud, lower it a little, or lower its pitch.
Ya have nice moments with those snare retriggers. The tune is becoming boring as it progresses, try adding another synth or whatever.

In any case, good potential but still much work to do. Smile

Yeah! Imo start up isn't 'bad' but in my ears this is more a combined track about style.. ravy vs techy. It doesn't bite each other though. Must say you manage to carry out u're own style in this concept! Midsection..yes yes!.. Rinse Must say: in there lies the real power of this track! Defenitely floorfillin with killer step-on patterns!

I'm enjoying this track..while chillin in for 2nights 'Beats op je Fiets' in Goes Big Grin Thx!

Grtz,
Have a nice weekend

im mixed on this one too. let me start from the go...the intro, kinda lacking something. maybe the rave synths would have worked but with some sound manipulation to give them some more evilness. maybe using some kind of lower synth would have been a little more appropriate. something with some wikkid ass bass. rides in the intro are bleeding my ears. too much sparkle man especially at high volume. i think more low end warmth versus high end sparkle would have worked better for the overall sound. drop, i would have enjoyed something a little more "in ya face" and unexpected. you know like drop it off with more silence then quick build back in and tear that shit loose. the synths did get a tad nerve racking tho cuz it was the same melody for most of the track. breaks aren't too bad, kinda chaotic, maybe too much for my liking, with all that stuttering and randomness. bassline seems to be lacking major power. got a whole ass load of beats but not enough bass power to compliment it. did you use some sort of overdrive for the breaks? i think some other use of sounds would have worked good for the overall track too. seems you just relied too heavily on one sound and rode it through the whole track. breakdown wasn't too shabby, i just think overall there wasn't enough to keep someone guessing what was gonna hit them next. as far as your overall final sound, its all trial and error man. i just think some variations in bassline and more power behind it. eq them breaks to give your bass and breaks room to live together. definitely a different approach to drum n bass tho.

not my kind of drum and bass. thought the build was ok minus the ravey synth. a bit dissapointed with the drop and felt there were too many kiks in the breaks.

to be honest tho its all a matter of opinion amd its probly betta than my shit

Pretty good stuff again mate, like the way the rave/harcore sound builds up during the break, aswell as the kick you are using, not sure about the mixdown though. Keep em coming ey Devil

yeah .

gabba shit !

first part is cool (drums sounds nice !!!) but i dont like the melodie that starts at around 0.57 . i mean , thats the idea of the track (so - it works because of that hardcore mood) but i think you could do so much more with that melodie - a little bit delay sometimes - glitchy ..... i ´d play on that ravey sounds.

The high end in the intro is killin me, but when the main part starts it is pretty cool and souns better. I would normalize this. It hurts the ears even when turned down.

Interesting mash of styles, for the most part I like. Needs a lot of work still though, but it is an ambitious track. I'd normalize the audio -2db for starters for sure.

Pretty cool. I would keep working on this one if I were you.
