Hydro-plane uploaded 2 tracks to start off his membership with dnbbe Bigup

Listen to these songs and comment below:
Ten Second Questions
Pro Tak

He actually uploaded some more but these were not dnb so I removed them Wink

Ten Second Questions: some nice ideas, some strange combinations but overall lacking a good structure. Sounds like you started with something and just did some other things after that, with no real buildup, climax or drops anywhere.

Pro Tak: Distorted bassline is a bit messy, and claps are somewhat weirdly placed. In fact your whole percussion is a bit strange, with all those snares all over the place. Got a bit the same feeling as with the first one: no real structure.

Like Surya said this is a real mess Big Grin

It sounds like the stuff I did 15 years ago with trackers on the C64, just making a lot of patterns and then sticking them together... You really should think about a track when you make it, and try to 'feel' when new elements should come in and go out, instead of randomly throwing them in.

Also get some swing in your drums!!!

Whooaaa, chuck it straight in there style! I always like some sort of intro! Really fat sound though occupying a really full frequency range. Nice speech sample, weak kick, weak snare, no variation in drum programming. Very average to my ears

Starts well, then gets totally lost when then crazy arp comes in. Does nothing else musically interesting for the rest of the tune. Kick is lost and far too weak, drums sound like casio presets and just not strong enough for modern drum n bass
