i tend to stick a low pass on my bass at around 70, but to get some of that higher end distortion this method does not serve so well, i gues if ure to use some of the bass high end you gotta sacrifice more on the leads to get the mix right.... any general comments about this?

you could always duplicate your bassline.
filter all the higher frequencis from one and have this as your sub. then filter all the low from the other.

not really anything to do with what your talking about but you should think about cutting out a liittle room in your bass for ya kick to sit in. personally i like to cut out 125hz

that. or split your sound. I just love the reasons combinator for that

you can make a crossfader with it so when it lowpasses the first sound it also highpasses the second. fine tune it and distort for some sick results

lol.

split the signal with spider to 2

assign knob one to filter 1 on the first channel (lowpass) 0-127
assign knob one to filter 2 on the second channel (hipass) 127-0

well number one.. if yo want high end distortion you have to high bass yoru bass at like 150hz intead of low passing at 70...

duplibate your track... and then low pass the same thing at liek 90 hz... and your bass should be fine..
