Ok, as you read
my comp crashed
and I managed to get online after.. what.. a month or two.
Now, after installing all the drivers (which took alot of time since we bought our comp in 'den aldi' and they didn't put a softwaredisk in the box)
Our soundcard still didn't work. After trying about everything I finally found what's wrong..

That's right, the multimediacontroller
this is a problem since there are no such drivers downloadable, I suppose, because I haven't found 1 single driver yet.

Is anybody familiar with the Code 28 or Code 10?
And is there a way to get my precious pc back to work properly?

If you bought your comp in "den aldi" the brand is probably medion. You should check their website, preferably the german one, and go to the support page. you can download drivers, firmware updates etc there.

THis isn't necessary if it worked before the crash and he didn't change the order of the cards.

If the PC is indeed a Medion, you can go to this page:
http://www1.medion.de/site/service_~u~_s...er_~u~_updates/

and enter the serial number of the PC, and you will be able to download the drivers.

I hope you understand a bit of german Big Grin

Is it an onboard sound card?

Try to insatall your chipset driver first, this could help a bit.....

but also because I changed my style a bit

I nearly reached completion of my latest track when my precious crashed.
So now the soundcard doesn't work anymore and who knows what else doesn't work either..
So .. I need some help here

Are there drivers for media controllers, PCI-devices and so on???

Anyway, what I can see so far with that:

is that all your peripherical managed by your chipset are not recognise.......

( multimedia controller, PCI device.....)

Your chipset might be VIA ( AMD proc), Intel, Nvidia.....

It's difficult for me to analyse your issue remotly..... I'll check my PM from work, maybe it will work.....

Anyway, it really look like your chipset is not recognise...... Wink

I managed to get everything back up and running
EXCEPT:

My PCI device
My C-Media High definition Audio Device (C media --> AZA AC97, and altho I installed the driver for this device, it still doesn't work)

PCI driver? Where can I find it?

Probably the "PCI device" doesn't mean you should install a pci driver, but it means windows detects a device in one of your PCI slots and it can't detect wich device it is. So start by checking if all expansion cards are inserted correctly etc.

What device did you plugin your PCI slot?

AC 97 still not recognise?? Still looks like a chipset issue in my point of view...

what mother board are u using? and for what proc please..... Happy
