Please check out my new track 'Ode to a Dying Lazer', post your comments here and vote for it!!!

Big up to DNB.de

This tune has an open beat. There is lots of space between the snares to play with. I used two different basslines, a rinsed out reece and a subline

The "Dying Lazer" is from my 303-groovebox that I am retiring.

I am super low tech. All non-303 sounds were made with a wave editor. All beats were made with straight shots and then resampled as loops.

The track was arranged using a free ware Tracking Mod and converted to MP3 using RazorLame.

Total cost to me: $0 USD

If you like it, vote. If you dont like it, tell me why. I appreciate any and all feedback, since Im not getting better without it.

Peace.

Cool, but it sounds like you've recorded this in the kitchen or so... Wink

very nice cool ideas, nice sounds en twists, but the problem is that the sound in your tune isn't 100% "full" use EQ and compressor to pump up the volume, cause now it sounds like the sound is trapped in the speaker, it doesn't come out properly, i don't know how to explain, but compare you're tune to a commercial tune(soundquality wise off course Smile ) and you'll get the idea.

It's a very nicely composed tune, don't change it to much, just focus on your sound...

cheers

wow.... theres something about this track that got me bouncing this morning. i really like the intro..... and the variations of synths . spot on imo. The various drum edits are great...... love the break and how it fades back into the drums...right on man... the only thing it's missing for me is a big fat drirty bass line... keep up the great work>>

respekt

I like the different sounds you used. Nice edit work on the different breaks. The overall groove is right there. This is very well put together but the sound quality is lacking.....Definitely a good track imo and I will be bumping this one quite often!! Drummer

ideas are not bad, but the sounds ruin it, very lowfi and uninteresting. also your structure needs a lot more work if youre to turn this into a working tune. the bass just zips in and it goes on till the end..

but try to beefen up those sounds first

as you retired the 303 maybe its time to turn to some real instruments

nice ones. thanks for the feeback.

i agree with the eq. i think everything was in the center, so i really could have tried harder.

the snare is annoying imo. got a very solid wack but could do with some velocity adjustment.

i like some of the sounds used. but theres no real vibe other than beats & bass, so its a little boring. theres a sound 2.24 which is a little to old skool casio keyboard for my liking.

personally i like tunes that have a vibe, this doesnt do it for me. theres just no atmosphere.

sorry man.
keep on keepin on an all that....
