i am looking for speakers with a bandwidth of 0hz-20hz , i think it's very rare because people cant hear this frequency but can feel it . I am going to make my own lil soundsystem for parties for friends so max people is 20-30 and for monitors if i play in my bedroom so it shouldn't be a big soundsystem but it has to have a lot of bass and quality . Anyone got some info on it or tips for building your own soundsystem? Sinds I don't have money it is going to be a work in progress thing and as i get money the soundsytem should become bigger .

I don't think you're going to find such speakers with such frequency range. I made my own speakers a few years ago and found out it still costs a lot of money, and a lot of studytime to make some descent pair of speakers, and I'm still not satisfied with the sound they produce. Try to study a lot of acoustics and analogue filter design if you want some descent material.

Frequencies below 40Hz are useless. They consume a lot of power to get some 'sound' out of it and they can seriously fuck up the bass. It will all sound muddy and undefined. If you want to hear a lot of bass, it's even better to filter off everything below 50Hz, that leaves more power for the usable low frequencies.
If you want to build them you'll need 18" woofers, which are so slow and heavy that you need something like a 2000W amp with an enormeous damping factor to drive them. A decent amp that can deliver that will cost you at least 3000 euro...

Lord you are fucked up mate!
Anyway, I heard frequencies below 6hz can couse brain damage. No idea if it is true tho.

arent there a lot of waves constantly going around below 6hz? i also heard about a lethal frequency, but i doubt that's true

0Hz to 20Hz? Human eardrums only hear down to +-35Hz and not even every human being will be able to hear those tones...
Best thing you can do is buy a few serious subwoofers imho... but it fscks up the sound bigtime on high volumes...

Nah, 'cause then we would have a worldwide (sound)destruction...
Tones under 6Hz are constant... comin' from wind, earthslides (however minimal they are), even ppl talking in the distance and stuff...
Besides, if that was true, Bush & Sadam would have a fullscaled war on speakers

I think the loudness is more important than the frequency of lethal sound
If it's loud enough it will kill you, but it helps ofcourse if you focus on specific frequencies, eg the resonant frequency of the spine

I've read some articles on acoustic weapons and i've learned that everything above +-150db is bad for the human body . But everything below 20hz is infrasound and it interacts with the body. So I thought i could make a system with low frequencies so you can play with the feeling of the body. The valve soundsystem gives you a poundn' bass you can feel and i wonna generate it because there is slim to non information on the specs of valve ss.

I'd bet on the valve sound system cutting everything off below 40Hz to give more power to the real bass between 60-200 Hz

Probably. But this is even low enough to make anything tremble like hell

read this summer an article about a band (in the 80's, dunno the name no more) who made music with these very low tones... they used to wear pampers cuz some tones just made people shit their pants!

A speaker that produces a frequency of 0 Hz is impossible...

Indeed, quite obvious
No in fact it isn't. 0hz is absolute silence, and every speaker is capable of playing that

not quite, theoreticcaly frequency is the opposite of period (time duration), so a 0Hz frequentie would mean a wave with an endless duration.
if u stretch this theory further, you would actually indeed be right, because of stretching the signal to endless, the amplitude (loudness) would become 0, so silence anyway.
& way to technical explanation probably, but wtf
& another fact, every speaker has about 10% THD, so even if you put absolutely no signal in it, you will still have a very few dB's of noise, unless u cut tha power ofcourse
just can't quit today, those body resonance frequencies are actually used in magnetic resonance scans, wich is @ the moment the most advanced technique of medical imaging, so making noise does have its usefull kind of ways....& this scanning technique no longer requires the "dangerous" extremely high frequent radioctive radiation.
