why excactly do you want to link two pc's? Unless you are using one as a synth or sampler, i really don't see why you should link them MIDI-wise?? Confused

MIDI-wise seems to be the easiest way. If not, tell me how. I'm working together with my friend on 2 separate pc's and it's a lotta fun except for when they run out of sync. We'd even like more&more&more pc's hooked up all together on the same MIDI-clock, that'd be heaven Drool

yeah yeah but... WHY? Big Grin
do you use every pc as an instrument?
anywayz... if you want to link them you can use your serial port or you can buy a midi adapter.
midiman has some good stuff, i used to have the midisport 2 x 2 (€100, 2 in, 2 out)

Using MIDI it's quite easy, but you have to use MTC (MIDI time code) instead of MIDI clock. Just define one sequencer as the master and the other as slave and it should be working instantly. How to do this depends on the sequencer you use.

The best way to sync is to use Word clock with a dedicated master clock such as the Apogee Big Ben or the Rosendahl Nanosyncs. Use this clock as a master and slave everything to it. This gives better digital audio quality than most devices are capable of, but it's quite expensive and you need good sound cards that can slave to word clock.

If you are going to use 2 windows based pc's i would recommend MidiOverLan.
It provides virtual midiports like Hubi's midi loopback device (very handy!!!), but also routes the midi over LAN.

If you have a Mac as second pc (like me) you could try the open standard DMIDI protocol (google it) but there's only clientsoftware for pc's and serversoftware for Mac at the moment( and i need the PC as server Frown ).
A third option is the OCT protocol which also runs over LAN and is supported by the new reaktor and traktor from Native Instruments (haven't tested it yet).
You could also try a cubase based setup , it supports lan-interconnectivity in the latest versions.

Or you could indeed just route a midi cable from pc to pc.
The advantage of soft like MidiOverLAn is that you can easily sync 2 midigenerators on 1 pc to an external clock, and route the signal of the 2 midigenerators to different soundgenerators on both pc's , with additional midifilters/alterators in the midi chain on both pc's (even without limitations of max 16/32 channels and stuff like that).
With classic Midi-cable setups you would need additional hardware midiports or you would have to organise all the data to all the apps over the available channels and banks.
