so, i worked on reason the whole time and now i switched to apple and i´m thinking about logic......but i have some doubts.....

Does anybody on the board work on a mac with logic ?

Does anybody work on a mac (other progs) ?

what do you think ?
which programs do you use ?

i know that logic is a lot of work , but i think if you play around and really work on yourself with this prog - some nice things could happen !!

please leave your experiences/tips etc.

logic sounds beyond amazing, i always asked why this was and got rubbish answers. the reason is that the synths and shit that come with it are enough in themselves, i.e. it leaves you feelling like you need very few other plug ins...
Logic users spend a lot on their setup and so must defend that with logic is the greatest. The stuff that does come with it sounds amazing, but one thing I was not happy with was that everyone said it was infinitely more stable than Cubase etc, but this is basicly not true(inmy experience) Ive found bugs with logic even more so than cubase, but at the end of the day i didnt feel ripped off when I invested in Logic (though I do get considerable discounts ... he he he)

but the fact is at the end of the day theres only so much great sounding stuff can do for you...you gotta make the shit happen yourself. Though you will never use another effect in reason once you use logic. I rewire logic and reason

yeah i use a mac (when im at home). oddly enough tho, i still use cubase, just got used to it y´know, hate having to start all over agian. deffo gonna step up to the logic soon tho, my mates got it, and it looks heavy. as far as i can remember, the synths that come with it etc are awesome, and its just generally wicked all round.

yea i second that laugh...

ok....

macs... by far the best computers for multimedia applications... so hands down theyre better for production...

logic... the synths are utterly amazing... also the way that they produce their wave leangths is unique to the software.. so a reece, or nice pad that yo make in logic cannot be reproduced with any other software.. (hence why apple owns it) the new additions are insane.. if yo wantr more info.. go to www.apple.com and watch the tutorial and info movie...

i laughed at the bit where you said you were getting a copy off fresh's girlfriend but then you say "he" runs it on apple.

are you implying that fresh's girlfriend is actually a man???

If a friend of my girlfriend would mention on a forum that she is distributing pirated software which has been acquired by me I would be seriously pissed off, and so would she for that matter.

bought a macbook pro and logic 8
had for about a week now, and it's stunning
i'm far from having the thing totally stripped down to all the possibilities and options, but already i'm compleeeetely in love with how it works and runs, very stable, and sooo intuitive it's beyond words to describe Big Grin hehe

but seriously, logic is way more than worth the investment, no doubt about it

MAC OWNS LOGIC, so they know how to make them work together well, is the theory.

As far as my experience with it. . . awesome.

It sounds beautiful, right outta the box. The synths are great, I can go grimey, I can go trancey. It's absolutely great. Although the learning curve can be quite steep, give it some time and you will be rewarded.

just getting started..but really like it so far..
there are just some issues with massive..sometimes logic seems to "forget" your massive presets..hopefully it will be solved with some upgrade..

any other thoughts on this?

My best mate's wife is buying him an iMAC for xmas (27" one) and wants to get LOGIC for him.

I've never used it (Logic), he has never used it and he uses REASON 5 will the transition be smooth?

I'm half tempted to tell her to buy him a 64bit PC with dual monitors and a copy of Presonus Studio One!! she'll save shedloads...

but- she's adamant on a MAC and LOGIC...

@ impact

if they've never used logic, they'll spend more time reading the manual than getting anything actually done.
most of the big players
cubase, ableton, fl, s1, have mac installers(for intell macs)
im not knocking logic it is a seriously sick bit of kit,
it just takes a shed load of reading and many trips to dedicated logic forums.
