If you are looking for a production audiocard, I would also advise something like M-audio, and not Creative, because they don't have the quality and the flexibility you will expect as a producer. __ The mysteries of the distorted snare... I tested a regular X-Fi card some time ago and these "betterizer" effects were okay if kept at decent level. I actually used 24 bit "betterizer" when digitalizing old concert tapes and the guy that commissioned that liked it. Nonetheless Creative line of Creative cards is not pro.
