waht i do is first normalise your track to 0db so its as loud as it can get before it clips...

add the puncher to your effects list...

setthe parameter to soft and at about 50-60% 70 is too high etc...

then if you have it add some vintage warmer or mix saturator...

and then finally limit at around -6 to -4 db threshold with about -2.5 db gain make sure its normal shaping.

and set your eq as needed

long journey through mastering...pfff

I think i will help you right by this:
1. Mix it well
2. EQ it
3. Apply effects
4. Finalize it (surora gave you only a small part of that what you need to do, and that depends from tune to tune not always the same aplications have to be performed)

But first of all find textbooks of these contents on the net or in your nearby store there are plenty to download.

I know. I try to EQ as I go when laying the track out. i was just asking if there were a quick mastering setup, once everything is mixed down.

i use ozone to master my tracks. the eq on it is the shizzle.

even a good mixdown can still benifit from a touch of eq

i only ever use it very slightly anyway
