I take the vocals.cut them easily in Cool edit pro.(I think you can download a free demo on the net)I bought it years ago and I dont regret it.
Anyway, finetune your cut pieces.Deceide which tempo you want and adjust your vocal to that tempo in Cool edit.
Than save al cut pieces and you have simple samples that you can put in a redrum or even a nn19 sampler.

u may find u have to re pitch them after youve chopped them up. which can sometimes sound good depending on what ur after. on the other hand your better off using ableton as you can preserve the pitch

i find it the best to just get to know the tunes original beat first ; then decide wheter to chop it in pieces or not ; then try an reconstruct the orig drum pattern (but do it on double the orig bpm) so make the original in halfstep ; once u got it right just delete the drumz an start mashin!!!
(could be this sounds real shit an unhelpfull ; sorry for that but it's just hard to explain if u wan tmore details add me on msn or pm me )

I guess it will be pretty hard with just reason. I'd chop it up in an audio editor or even recycle.
acid is good. didnt try ableton yet but if I do it might be goodbye reason

i use cool edit on my desktop, which is windows xp; but when i installed it on my laptop (windows vista) and try to open the program, it always just closed out pretty well immediately.
if you're familiar with vista (or just know a solution) and are able to use cool edit pro on vista, could you please fill me in?
anyone, really
thanks
