Yeah, Cymatics is nuts!
Ive tried doing this a few times, with different results. Never nearly as good as this though!
An easy way to do this is to stretch some paper over a speakter cone. Dont let it touch the cone, and make sure that it is as tight and level as possible. Then just pour on whatever powder youre gonna use. I found that ash works really well but it does smell pretty bad. Either way, you want to use a very fine powder.
You'll also need some way of generating wave forms. Reaktor is pretty good for this. If you open an oscillator. Atach a constant value of 1 to the amplitude input. Atach an add module to the pitch input, and attch 2 controls to the add module. One with a range of 0 to 120, and one with a range of -1 to 1.
