i'd like to connect my midi keyboard and use it with FL Studio, they all require drivers and they are USB MIDI CONNECTORS not any regular cables u get usb from one side and midi jacks from the other, i thought name of the topic was clear enough

If there's a sound card (a separate one, not on your motherboard) there is a big chance it has a midi input and you need only a cable instead of a usb converter.

Usually you can use the joystick port for midi I/O, but you need a cable. On more recent soundcards it is not available as an external port, but you need to connect a bracket with the port onto your soundcard first.

see attached pictures

djfreemc has attached these images (downsized versions):

Not sure if it will work, you will have to check the specs of that converter. Also don't mistake parrallel port with joystick port. They look pretty much the same, but parrallel port has 25pins (and is usually pink), joystick port has 15pins (and is usually yellowish).

ive just got my keyboard (alesis x25 ) , ive got a soundcard/audio interface: m audio fast track pro. The dude at the shop said that I would only need the midi in cable so i bought that, do I not need to use a midi out cable also? The manual aint got much on that but a diagram of connections and thats for if youve got two keyboards, and you plug both the midi in and out into the other keyboard then alesis to computer via usb..

so for controlling v. synths do I need to buy a cable for the midi in also? or will it work with just the midi in? , not at home right now so cant try it out !
