i'm just getting the hang of reason 3 and love the synths and drum samples.

i'm trying to rewire now with cubase sx and seem to be running into problems.

e.g.

i make a good melody, intro beat, bass and lay down some foundations to my track within. i export as individual audio files. i then close reason, open cubase and import these files so i have the beginning of my tune and in a much easier environment. so i now open reason, return to cubase, select reason in the devices drop down and assign the channels. open the cubase mixer and select anable rewire or whatever it is down on the left hand side. now when i play my track in cubase i can have drum beats from reason playin in time. however when i wish to select new drum hits in reason i cannot listen to them, and i cannot record what i have made into cubase and so i cant build new parts to my track whilst being able to eq/compress ect to fitt with what i have running in cubase. might sound mad but i am. ha ha ha pease help

i dont see why you are exporting wavs as you make the track.
if your computer can handle it keep it rewired intill you have nearly finished the track then bounce down all the channels when it comes to mixdown.

but in answer to the question about hearing samples.......

in the menu for enabling Reason have you highlighted "MIX L & R"

thats where the sample browser plays thought.

also make sure you dont have channels solo'd in cubase if you want to browse samples in reason

cubase esp. is a resource hog. 3+ channels and my 1gig machine starts chucking

Ableton 6 is a LOT less resource heavy. yesterday I got running 5 channels all with izotope ozone each with 64-bix mixing on
