Don't use 24bit wav files to begin with. 16bit 44.1KHz is the most you should ever use, and for one simple reason. It is absolute perfect quality to the human ear.

Granted some peoples hearing is better than others, but at that bitrate its abosultely the clearest it can get for a human, in a scientific view. Therefore its pointless.

So what I would do if I was you, would to simples open up the file in Wavelab, Sound Forge something like that, that you use, and render it into 16bit 44.1KHz Then FL should open that up without a problem.

Where do the WAVs come from? Can you open them in another program such as Audacity?

is it maybe becuase they are 24 bit but something stupid like 8kHz?

i had some samples like that off a website and reason wouldn't load them.

if that is the case stick them in an audio editor like wavelab, soundforge etc and resample them at 44.1kHz
