Hi everybody,

A question about the drumlines of jazz dnb.

Somebody has some tips about makin them jazzy, I mean how yo get those high rolling beats like these in the song of Electric Sky, Late Night Jazz.
AND

How to make some subwoofer sound

I use fruityloops 6

Thanks

Well using snare samples played with brushes instead of sticks is a good start, instant jazz Big Grin

a typical ride pattern for jazz is (1/16)
code:
1:
x---x--xx---x---x---x--xx---x---

and they would do lots of variations like (1/16)
code:
1:
2:
x---xx-xx---x---x---x--x-x--x-x-
x---x--xx--x--x-x---x--xx--x-xx-

kick - snare pattern like
code:
1:
k---sS-kK---S--k-k--sS-kK---s-sS

etc etc, this is just some stuff I'm hammering on my keyboard Smile

tried listening to Jazz? You should, it's very good music!!

Also, once you have made your jazzy break, you can add a DubDelay (tweak until it sounds to ur liking, or to whatever rides with your other break going on), and a Filter and set the filter to almost cutoff (only bass no highs) then turn your reso about 1/4 of the way, or tweak until sounds right!

Respekt!
