Please check out my new track 'The Dark' and post your comments here!!!

This is a track I have had sitting around for about a month.. I don't think it is quite finished, but don't know what to do with it.

Regardless, I thought I'd upload and get some thoughts. Thanks.

intro is really waving through my head right now, its 10 o'clock in the morning so hopefully i will get some liquid shit:
0:42 - an insane beat comes in. its hard and those breaks are well done. only thing is that some snares dont seem to fit right.it sounds kinda strange.

1:25 an insane and grungy bassline just comes in. maybe more of a build up or even just a drop? melody is cool , breaks are cool

i love the 2:04 break.

after that a real cool string comes in. it makes it sound really evil but always remember this! a string above a bassline is like a parasite, it will eat your whole bassline and pump it into himself.

i love the breakdown with the pianosounds and well done how the drums come in. nice halfsteppin there cool sample but it cuts of a little bit strange.

beat that comes in has that whacked snare again! it sounds really bad , like a damned trainrag or something like it! thats something you should really badly filter out of it.

my compliments for the bass though, really kinda evol intent style.

thought the song was coming to an end with that peacefull part there but it just starts over again with that hard stuff.

overall: maybe some dark sounds to support your bassline. like a wicked guitar kinda thing wich you make sound like more synthetic, and do that drums thing, its really annoying to listen to your song if it is full of those trainrag kinda things.

Good luck, let me hear what u've made of it.

i like this one... although,
there are some good things and some bad things about the drums...
the intro is cool, and the drums come in heavy... something about the beat at the start... some loop is off beat... maybe speed it up abit, or cut the individual shots and code them.. they sound sweet as, just need some cleaning up...
and the basslines are dope i reckon... nice evil distorted and bass heavy.
good ideas... just needs some cleaning up and maybe some more
trippy dark elements to top it off.

Thanks for the comments guys, you have insipired me to get back onto this 1 and finish it. Big Grin

@ D JUICE: I am not sure what you mean by trainrag sounding snare, could you explain this further?

@ anf0 D: not sure if the loop is off beat, though I have several breaks layered, and 1 may sound a little off? Is that what you are talking about?

@ Hidden identity: thanks for the kind words

I am all messed up with DnB genres, you guys seem to invent two for each new tune Huh so I do not know if this intentional (in this sub genre)

But have you tried to dance (jump, rave, whatever) to this song?

Main drum riff is not 8 beats long, but something like 7,8 beats.... very irritating!

intro : trains immediately i think of trains. get some samples of tube stations and trains pullingup and moving off would go nicely in here. some people speakin and walkin past. pan some one talkin so in head phones it sounds like theyre walking past you.

Beats are very off rythym but makes it unique . i like that

when u got the beat kicking like pow pow pow pow

make it go in terms of velocity POW POw Pow pow then bring it back in

bass is lovely idea. but seems to dominate the centre of the mix too much. theres not alot panned here in the mix .
its nice n dark

overall 90% good man
nice job
