Once made a mono 5-channel graphic EQ as a lab project in school. It was not of practical use to me, but it worked fine.

I was more thinkin of eq/compressor/micpream rather than synths.

EQ is not that hard, you need some variable resistors, some audio quality opamps, and coils or capacitors to create the filters. If you want I can look up the scheme and a good explanation of it (in dutch).

Building a basic mic preamp should also be possible I think. I guess a 2stage amp with one impedance changing amplifier and one "power" amplifier will do the job. Building a studio quality mic preamp on the other hand, would be quiet hard I think.

For a compressor I have no idea, but you will probably be able to find some schemes on google.

does anyone know about (simple) shemes for a simple cutoff+resonance lp filter?

The simplicity of hardware filters greatly depends on the sharpness you want it to cut of. If I'm not mistaken a normal first order filter (1 resistor and 1 capacitor) cuts off only 6dB/octave (could be 3, I don't know it by heart anymore). A second order filter cuts off 12 (or is it 6?) dB/octave, and so on. Also you need to keep in mind the characteristics of the filter (some well-known ones are legendre, cauer, and lots more) as it will also have influence in the pass band (on some filters this is the amount of resonance). Don't have any scheme at hand for a frequency-adjustable filter. Gonna do some googlin'.

edit: check this link. nice scheme for hardware parametric EQ. With some changes you could make your lowpass filter I think.
