I too entered the dnbforum.nl compo this year, but as the samplepack turned out to suck (waw, a single bassline sample!) the track didn't turn out to be very good either. I like how the vocal and bassline turned out, but the drums suck ass

yes in deedy the drums suckkkkkK! Why didnt you using a dbl glitch and have randomizing pitch changes and whiplash to it atleast. I dunno what to think of this tune. I wish I knew what the sample pack had in it, then I could judge better.

I can assure you the drums sucked complete ass. I used EVERY drum in the pack and layered them, pitched up/down, distorted them, resampled them...

DUDE....you need how to learn how to use it then. You can set everything on there. There is no randomizing, once you erase their presets, and do your own thing. DBLglitch is the shit plain and simple!

Glitch wouldn't have helped fix the bad sound of the drums...
And now on topic please

Your intro is cool, I like the atmosphere and vocal. Works very well.
Well, given that you have already mentioned the drums being shit, I won't talk too much about them. That being said I dont care for those drum sounds at all really, esp the BD and SD.
Your song structure also seems rather blah, like you weren't really feeling this. I think a few more different elemnts need to be added in the middle of the track, it kinda stalls out there, especially when that studder break occurs about half way and seems to go on forever. I kept finding myself wanting to move the song past this point.
I do like your breaks, though I would prefer it to change up a bit more, it seems a bit too consistent.
The bass is pretty cool, you worked well with that. I personally don't care for that beeping, but after listening to this a few times it seems to not bother me as much.
I think this could work pretty out well, there are lots of nice elements you got there. Unfortunately you'd need some more samples/ sounds that I am guessing you weren't allowed to use.

Yep. There were a few other sounds in the pack, almost all unusefull. The pack consisted of mainly a lot of very shitty drums, one bassline, a few layered atmos with melodies in them...

i liked intro, synth but drums sounds isn't good, and as a whole quality of sound could be much better, no development, where is it? all track is easily predictive, make track more various
