installing vst:


i recently downloaded a free spectrum analyser plug in for cubase.. exept when i extracted the files and then tried to setup, it said it needs to know what program created the file.... can anyone help? it was a dll fille i think, this is really annoying.... it is my first plug in ive tried to install

in [Program Files] folder there should be a folder called [Steinberg] and under that [VST plugins] or simply a folder containing the word VST located in Program Files. you should put all files in there

if there is none you can create a folder for it and then point to it from your VST host

yeah those fies arnt there, its not a crack copy of cubase either.
what do you mean by creating a file? to put in program files? then how do i point to it from cubase?

right ive found the folder, now ive got the file in the vst folder, but i cant get it in cubase.... any help? in the install instructions it says ive got to rescan plug ins from cubase, but i dont know how to do this

cubase should be checking vst's every time it starts.. dunno as I'm not a regular cubase user, someone else might help you better with this

go into program files, steinburg, cubase, vst plug ins.. once here this is the folder you need to copy the dll file too, maybee put it in dynamics folder or somthing, so copy the dll file first then paste in this folder, when you reeboot cubase then go to insert fx , open your availiable fx and the plug will be listed.
