Put the sound you want to vocode in the Modulator input.
Put the sound you want to vocode it with in the Carrier input.
Play around with the amount of bands, shift, HF Emphasis and Dry/Wet...

er, it's the other way around. carrier is the sound while the modulator is vocoding it.
don't forget to draw some notes for both of the devices you're using otherwise you'll get no output
the hold button is interesting because it freezes the modulation input

I described it this way coz that's the way it sounds to me. If I want to make an Evol Intent style vocal, I put the vocal in the Modulator input, and the noise on the Carrier input. Thus, you get that hissy vocal...

Also, when using the vocoder, make sure you use a harmonically rich sound as the carrier (like a strings sample, or a sawtooth with some LPF) IF YOU WANT YOUR VOICE TO BE CLEAR!
many people seem to want to talk directly into reason, to make the vocoder work..unfortunately, you cannot do this. you need to work with a sample as the modulator, or another device within reason.

with the bass as the modulator or the carrier or both?
fuck it, stupid question just gonna try it out for myself
|
lol answered your own question
no rules with it, one time it can make the bass sound a lot meaner, other times no matter what I do it turns to crap
