I was planning on buying a new affordable MIDI-keyboard and my eye fell on the Roland Edirol PCR-50 cuz it's got 49 full-sized keys, 8 MIDI assignable rotary knobs, 8 MIDI assignable sliders, newly developped Pitch&Modulation controls and it costs about 300¤ in my local shop. It's also got USB and a V-link port. Anyone of you think there're better options for the same price or somebody perhaps who's already worked with the PCR-50, please let me know. rapaxxx@hotmail.com

yep, looks nice. better check the key-stroke-reaction-time first, cause sometimes midi-keyboards can be slow.

Evolution make very nice keyboards and so does Fatar. They both have an extensive range so you find something for every budget.
Buying a good quality keyboard is very important, it's best not to go for what seems to be the best value for money. The keyboard action can be very bad on cheap keyboards, making it nearly impossible to play expressively cause the velocity tracking will not be precise enough.
You can also consider buying a small synth instead of a MIDI keyboard. You will be able to use it as a MIDI keyboard and you get nice sounds too!!
BTW Not many people know this but the majority of big brands use Fatar keyboards for their synths.
