what is the cause for little pops n hisses? Ive been listening to a bass sound ive got coming out of subtractor-matrix, and its really inaudible at low monitoring levels, but at high levels you can hear it, should this be something to be concerned about?
just like to say also im amazed at the responses I get from this forum and really appreciate the help! cheers guys

so what would you use then cynik, if your using reason , I assume you dont discount the subtractor altogether? in what way does it suck more than a thai lady boy, forgive me i aint had much experience with other synths, is it just that the sound quality is balls?

maybe maelstrom at times.. but not for an important thing such as the bass, for that always samples bounced off a synth be it hardware of software. virus is the shit. teh soft ones I use are renowned Absynth 2 and 3, Reaktor 5 and thats about it.
to answer your question about subtractor: I made some cool sounds with it after a lot of patience but when I wanted to automate it twisting any knob would turn the sound to shit, no matter what I try theres so very little of tweaking space on it (if any).
when I tried putting it through some quality vst distortion units (predatohm, antares tube etc.) and whatnots it would always give me crap results. what's up with that Propellerheads? they didn't change the fucking thing from version 1 like it's some kind of godly good thing
it is, and will remain a totally useless feature in Reason for me. such are the: phaser, chorus... just kid toys

so basicly, despite all the arguing against it, reason as a STAND ALONE production program with no other inputs such as the other synths you have mentioned is crap. >?
this would seem to be the implication that if it is not used in conjuction with other hard/software it is pretty much incapable....

Well, reasong is a very capable program because of its quality synths, but I don't use it for another reason.
For example, you can natively use VSTi's in FL but you have to do rewire in reason etc. ya know.
But you can't make a decent track in FL alone, except if you accept the hard job by synthetizing every goddamn sound through the better synths (TB404, Sytrus etc.) or by using samples (but that's not FL anymore so Jimmy your'z off
)
