Hardcore techno... or gabber, cheddar, distortion whatever you like to call it?

As a general rule I like anything thats loud and offensive, except noise music, its a bit of an acquired taste methinks...

I do however feel that hardcore techno is missing something...
some techno is 2 step beats even...

h-hat
s-snare

for example

to me that sounds completely brainless and overly simple
even

sounds too minimalistic

personally i like a bit of variation, im sure some of you guys have heard of wonky techno... losing the 4 on the floor pattern in favour of a more varied pattern... crystal distortion anyone?

i do however have respect for djs that make their own kicks... dj nosferatu is friggin awesome at making absolutely brutal kicks... check out rattlesnake off the darkcore damage album for an example...

just wondering what you guys think of the genre...

like the techno sound as a whole, dont get involved in sub-classifiying the style though...

all my housemates are polish and listen to alot of trance and techno, when i said 'do you like drumnbass' they were like,'drum n what??'

oh what fun i'll have showing them over the coming months, im sure over half of them will have their eyes opened to our world..

the time is coming, i feel like morphius and the crew in the matrix sumtimes i swear,.. when people hear it for the first time and like it, i feel good that i've opened another mind...

oh yeah the techno thing,,, luv it but then again i like all music, yes thats right, ALL music...

its what keeps the blood flowing through my veins...

Right said... been in the Techno scene for many years, after a while it will hit you that what you´re listening to doesn´t work without drugs Happy

In the Hardcore scene there´s a big load of bullshit going on and just very few tunes were well done. Mostly its boom-boom-boom-weeee-weeee-weeee-weeeeeeeeeeeee-boom-boom-boom etc... for about 5 minutes and then on to the next piece of ...

No wonder the hardcore scene has been reduced to just a tiny little bit compared to it´s best days. And the looks and behaviour of those hardcore lovers just made me Puke
