If I remember right I did some sound recording on my previous pc (166 Mhz loooong time ago) and I had no stuttering. So maybe you will need another program, or try to tune some settings.

could it be the visualisation of the waveform cuases the stutters? the screensaver had been on on some parts, where there are less stutters

or is it the max size of the temporary files map (14mb)

man that fucking sucks. I remember used to record hours long stutterless clips on ye olde 486DX at 66Mhz with 16MB RAM in an earlier version of Sound Forge

somehow, i think it would be easier to be able to just press record and forget about it, do the mix and then save it as an mp3 Roll Eyes Smile
