this was discussed before. it would probably lead to people taking less attention to previews which would be unproductive as they obviously need more attention.

and the tunes posted are 90% previes anyway so..

i noticed that i started losing interest in voting because of too many incomplete and updated tracks. some people might feel the same

Ah ok they just use two different forums for it. I tried to register to see how they handle uploads etc but I got this:

SQL Error : 1062 Duplicate entry '0' for key 1
INSERT INTO phpbb_groups (group_name, group_description, group_single_user, group_moderator) VALUES ('', 'Personal User', 1, 0)
Line : 637
File : usercp_register.php

Now my account name and email address are reserved but I can't log in Frown

Can you maybe ask them if they can activate my account? I registered with username 'thechronic' Wink

seems that the admins are working on a new version of the site, im gonna drop them a message

basically they've got an upload script for finished tracks and a voting system, but the voting system doesnt seem to be very good...

besides that there is a upload function next to the reply form, where you can temporarily upload pictures and unfinished tracks but i dont know how much webspace they've got.

OK I made a simple solution for this. When people upload a track they can chose between 'preview' and 'finished'. Previews will get the text '(preview)' attached to the track name in the listen page.

Splitting up the forum would be too much work really.

OK the 'preview' notice should also show in the home page now. I didn't test this, so if there are any problems with uploading or displaying tracks in the listen page or home page, let me know!

Cool deal, it makes it much easier than typing out that it is a preview, so then people know what to expect when downloading. Nice one chronic!

do you think it makes sense if you can only vote for finished tracks? i mean previews dont really belong in a best of list imo

No I'll keep the voting, I'm sure the producers appreciate this even on a preview.

I can keep the previews out of the best of list though, but I don't think many previews end up in this list anyway.

That will be for after the weekend, my job is calling Wink

i remember readin this thread a while ago, and at the time i agreed that we should keep things as is after readin all reply's, but with more thought i think its a good idea, if you work hard enough to actually finish a tune, you should deserve a section away from all the previews, and i disagree that we wouls loose out on preview reviews, the amount of reviews per producer would still roughly be the same in my guess, maybe a bit more on the finished track's but thats a good thing, more drive to make complete tunes, anypoo's, its all good, im a preview king, never finished a track yet, so no worries ither way, just me input's. weee.

I agree that it would be nice to give some more attention to finished tunes, but there is a practical problem: everybody would just set the option to 'finished', even for previews to get more attention to their tunes Big Grin

Even now there are often previews which are marked as finished, we often have to change their status. I guess they put it to 'finished' just to be able to get into the top tracks list which is impossible for previews.

i have been guilty of that too Roll Eyes

i still think it would be a great addition to the site worth having.

also a 'tunes' section in the 'related styles' part for said styles,
would be a great bonus.

there would be the risk of just non dnb producers/lovers posting
their material, so to easily counter that just programme a "non may upload"
who are under 2 or 3 disc rank (this proves dnb post whore love).
