The knob P1 is atack/release (depends on compresion how it acts)
The knob P2 is Input/Output seting of compresor...
However M-Class compresor is more MASTER compresion with Side Chain... it "behavies" better when u use it on the main mix...
For effects try to use COMP-01 Auto make up gain compressor...

don't like the comp1 never use it.
Scream 4 is distortion unit. not compressor, although some modes like tape appear as compression, it's not...
p1 p2 are what the name beside them says, different for each mode
f.e in fuzz p1 is presence etc.

Agreed Screm4 is distorsion unit, and it can be used only for distorsion...
But the comp tab in SCREAM4 can be used as MAXIMIZER but only to a specific instrument or sound... not as master unit
