Step One 2006: 5th anniversary XL Edition
For its fifth instalment on August 12, 2006; Step One broadens its musical horizons. The afternoon will be backed up by Jerboa (45 funk set), live hiphop by Phatmark and the Onda Sonora Sound System (funk'n'more). Simmering afternoon starts at 14h00, so come early!

The drum'n'bass-wize agenda looks even better, headlining John B (United Kingdom) and The Panacea (Germany). Earlier on, dnb veteran Wontime (Riot Squad) secures the stage longside the Gamorah Sound (Pukkelpop), D-Convict (Star Warz, Redroom) and the Kronik Flakes.
Sets are hosted by the very MC DOC !

New to Step one? Just to make sure: since its first instalment in 2002, Step One is a midsummer open air festival focussing on drum'n'bass - backed up by related genres - in Malderen (Belgium). On offer will be free camping space so the wasted headz don't have to worry about driving home, parking facilities, a shuttle service from & to the trainstation, good food and cheap drinks. Panacea dissapointed me. He spinned like 6 fine tracks, and most of them very short, all the rest was ordinary dark shit... Really enjoyed "Faith" though Tongue

John B is a showoff, but a boring one. I expected more variation in his set, but it was all samo samo. When he started spinning house, we went home...
