However, some kids I know had stripped these VST's done using a VSTHost of some sort.. and rewire'd them and compiling them into FL5. They require less CPU and all that other crap.
I like the FL5 alot better than FL6, I could be a little more stupid.. But I seem to think FL5 is alot alot better, ...
My favourite VST's are...
BCheese, Sytrus, Dongha. Some I have compiled myself.
Auto-Modulating VSTs are awesome. But also are for the lazy kids

I dont know if that is the correct term for it.
But its when for example you use sytrus (fruityloops vst) and you have your x and y axis which control effects on that assigned instrument.
You can assign an effect or filters to each axii. I bind my laptop mousepad to the application, so where I move the mouse on the laptop pad different effects are applied to the intrument. Its good when you play live...

oh shit, to say favorites, that would have to be the ones used most regularilly.
*Cracks fingers*
PSP bundle -
bass - for big kicks
treble - fr sharp anything, kick snare toms hats
pressor - for use over who samples of drums usually, or generally any instrument can get some nice snap, but isn't great to be pushed
saturator - for basslines usually, or to add 'grit' makes some great reece if you push it and have a good synth.
warmer - for mastering sometimes if it needs more warmth
psp48 - emulates the lexicon supirior delay, with nice reverb to add, and fb filter, and tape drive almost everything you need in a delay
Kjaerhus Classic bundle -
reverb- is great for nice open and cold, like the classic 80's sound
auto-filter- is sick
delay- is one of my favorite to add totally messed digital distortion or analog which fits in nicly with the psp48
the flanger and phaser are alright, good for cheese.
for being free there worth the price. the delay and reverb are great
smartelectronix - ambinece is a nice reverb unit that's free, and has a good openess
Anechoic Room Simulator - only because so many people will "SWEAR" by it's ability LOL! it emulates a "echoless room" perfectly. just when you thought there's nothing to add tot he mix, use it.
just check out the above link and have a good laugh, bram is the plug-in maker.
http://bram.smartelectronix.com/plugins.php?id=5
again for the price it's equal value.
Guitar Rig 2 - the best guitar emulator sound all around,a dn once you disable all the other stupid plug-ins like tuner and recorders it takes up not much cpu for an amazingly real sound. you'd swear it was a guitar. just run any synth through it. great varaitey of distortions, effects, pre-amps, and speakers, and mics, and angles, it's good! it's better then good.
it's expensive.
just for kicks
iZatope ozone3- this is a great amstering tool for ease, if you're just getting outa demo and don't want hassle, but want quality
good pre-sets to start from. nice eq, and quality comps.
iZatope trash - pretty good distortions, takes cpu though. i actually like it for the delays.
iZatope spectron - i find it hard to get quality, but then what are you trying to get out fo it, if you mess with the settings int eh delays at the end you cang et a nice soft delay unlike anytihng else, but it's mostly for liquid sounds, and it's not the greatest for whatever it's suppose to do, mak e weird echos.
spektral delay does that much better and more intuitivly.
ohmboyz stuff is all very nice, there OHMZ is the best by FAR!
scuzzphut - for wheny uo need a cool rhythmatic gating, or t rance gate, as i call it.
www.digitalfishphones.com
dominion - great saturator/exciter to give warmth and oomf to basses, and drums
all the stuff ont he site is great, and it has an expander and a de-esser which both are hard to find plug-ins for, especially free ones!
what's better is that they don't suck!
vcs-reducer2 - great digital distortion with several options i havn't found elsewhere.
t-racks - the clipper especcially. nice and warm. good distoriton
tri-dirt - nice selection of distoritons over a 3 bands of freq. it's free
VOXENGO!
they are amazing and easy to get ... ... ...
there's the crunchessor- the most snappy digital compressor i have ever seen
elephant- the best limiter and most transperant i ahve ever seen
TapeBus- for great if not the best, tape emulation with a varaitey of sounds, comrpession and distortion
Insert - just to add some highend blur like analog gear to digital sounds
Warmafier - add's tube like grit, or sonic quality to diigital. gives it a nice analog feel
they got great stuff, and more, but that's all i sue frequntly.
all of it good.
i only want to addd Grumblebum from tweakbench because it add's weird noise that is very helpful to amke stuff dirty, and less perfect in analog, but can get out of hand. it's very nice and tweak bench has great stuff.
now for the insturments
asynth- for great non-linear synthing basslines good pw mod
alllbino i don't use as often, i tihnk it's not that great
junoX - for when i am suicidal and just want a good strong synth, thats got a nice randomize button. can suck more then work though, but the randomize is fun. generally not my favorite anymore
only becuase i found Zeta with the Virus mod. great sounds
Pro-5 is great synth i tihnk it's rich, and takes not muh cpu
minimoog V would be as good but it's cpu consumption. mostly has one setting
tweakbench - peach, for the nintendo sounds, triforce for the actual NES sounds.
plastic - for crunchy sounds
ravity(s) for strings and other orkestral sounds
stringsynth - for geat physical modeld guitar and piano's that can really cut through
lounge lizard 2 - for the best ever emulation of electric piano's rhode style
toxic3 for the best FM synth i got, easy to use and low on cpu and PHAT!
last but not least, Vangaurd for trance and amazing 303 basslines.
now out of the hundreds of plugins i do have, this is the core of it, these are the ones i use almost ever song. when needed. the right tool, for the right job.
absynth is great but it's ahrd to get a workable sound out of it, reaktor has so much to it, but it can do what a lot of other plug-ins can't.
and shootyuorself it's called an X-Y Controller, generally.
night.
