.... if anyone's interested, you can find my latest thing here:
http://myspace.com/djbleakdnb1

It's the first tune. It should play automatically. The tune is called 'Tortured Souls' and is originally by a friend Illuzion. He asked me to do a remix, and I had never tried a remix before so I decided to give it a shot. It's been a while since I've posted a tune here. I hope you guys like it.

I use FL5 and a couple plugins. I run a pretty bare-bones setup. Nothing special. Enjoy!

alright tortured souls..

well, it doesn't start that tortured, a too happy vibe to it for my taste. intro takes too long

drops: reece is pretty thin. then the kick is too loud.. but it's not the kick, it's those bass hits actually, beats are nice and rolling on the other hand

loose the atmospheric souls screeching times - it gets tiring after a while IMHO.

well, dunno, the elements you have are in place, but it gets droning and bores pretty quickly, some modulation would remedy that. also try to introduce some more elements, something that would sound memorable. but first try working on that reece more IMO

First, thanks for takin a second to listen.... As for the title: I only did the remix, I didn't name the tune. I just added my flavor to my friend's tune idea. I agree with you about the screeching atmos. After I listened a few times, I realized I shoulda dumped that when the tune drops. As for variations, anyone got any ideas? more drum edits? more 'sounds' more______? It does lack that bit of 'excitement' Anyway, thanks for the review, maybe I'll work on it some more.
Anyone else?

I actually listened to it three times before posting

personally I would go all out spacing in this, which means reverbed atmospheric noises and a couple more synths creeping in and out. possibly bandpassing filter which would make a synth come out from above (barely matching hihat frequency) and from below, from the bass. it is a reece tune and to contrast it go for non-melodic parts while bringing back the screechings

hope that helps, sorry if it's confusing. hit me up on MSN if youre having more problems (click on my profile for the MSN adress)

nice simple and effective start, sound rather dull tho.. is that jus myspace?

those screech sounds are cool mate, so is that percussion rolling the tune along.. heavy bass stabs are good

drop is alright. maybe grime up that reece a lil more.. the breaks are quieter than the set before the breakdown, need to fix that man,

nice little tune man, would like to hear the original to get a better idea of what you've done with it

cheers mate
