Hi, im in the process of making an old skool jungle album...
The term jungle is thrown around to freely these days and is even used to describe drum n bass as a whole, what im doing is going back to the classic sounds from around '94 to '96, the era where most of these classic tracks were produced
i have a sound similar to Remarc (sound murderer album especially) and DJ Starscream, its not a particularly bouncy, happy sound, the basslines are quite sorta, i dunno, evil sounding and the drums are pretty brutal...
What im looking for is a place where i can download some of the classic breaks used in old skool jungle dnb
ive got the amen already, also i have the funky drummer break, the following i really want to get hold of
theres one called the 'think' break
theres one that sounds like theres a shaker in the background
theres one that is usually pitcheed up and has a note at the beginning as a result, it has one kick at the beginning, lots of wishy washy ghost snare and hat stuff and one snare at the end
theres one that sorta has a voice in it somewhere, its usually pitched up and the voice sounds relly oompa loompa ish :p i have no idea wat it says but it sounds like 'meh heh!' :p
theres one that has lots or really hissy ride cymbals in it and is usually pitched up
anyone who can direct me to a site where i can download any of these gets a cookie :p
one more thing, i need lyrics
again, anyone who can direct me to a site where i can get some good accapellas, preferably ragga jungle ones gets another cookie
lastly, i need to find the famous sample of that jamaican dude hu goes 'alla the junglists!' he slurs it a bit so it sounds like 'ahhhh jonglest'
also i need a sample where i can extract 'BLOODCLAAAAT!' from and timestretch it like all old skool tunes do lol
Many thanks to anyone who can help, i wish there was something i could do in return fo you guys cos i feel mean just demanding samples outta the blue :p

Fair enough. I prefer jungle over straight up DNB, drums are always better IMO.
DJ Starscream, Thats the guy from Slipknot isnt it..... Never thought much of his stuff, wouldn't really call it jungle, more like week ass breakcore, but what the hey.
The think break is from the track "think about it" by Lynn Collins, which was written for her by good ole Jimmie Brown... Its him doing the Aha! in one of them. There are a few different sections to it, theres the part with just drums, there is a part with the Aha at the begining, and there is a part with what sounds like "Do better man" in it. One of these is probably the one youre talking about with the umpa lumpa voice it it.
You'd probably be best off downloading the sample packs off this site, there used to be one called Akuma breaks which had most of the classics in there. If not there are probably loads of sites with this sorta stuff on. I think someone mentioned.

But Im sure there are others too.
Ive got a load of BBBBBLLLOOOOoodddcccllloootttt samples, If I post a couple do I get 2 cookies?
(The edible variety of course!)
You'll have to wait a couple of days though coz Im not at home ATM.
I think Ive got the "alla the jungalists" sample too, or something similar, I'll have a look when I get home. NE way have fun.

u wouldn't happen to need the legendary buju banton's : dance jump up to dis ; non stop turn an twist !!!
that one classic
an yeah techdiff ur right ; starscream shouldn't even deserve the "weak ass breakcore " term ; he's just a loop freak
jungle is massive !!
