dr rex is sooo classic... i wish i had some extra money for the basement arts program called reflex... its kinda like dr rex but then compatible as a vst for cubase... i sometimes still use reason for drums but thats it... i tend to go for battery more these days.

there are TONS of beat slicers available, that do same thing than Reflex.
for example Smartelectronix had one or two that were free...

been using redrum... but i layer it up something heavy. i will use one with very electronica sounding drums, a second with more realistic sounds, and a third sometimes for percussion. usually for percussion i will use dr.rex... and the Amen goes in a dr.rex (easier to arrange the slices.
