Well it depends I use all of them...
If i have .rex or ReCycle file and I don`t intend to edit the sounds separately
I use Dr.REX.
If I have wavs, aiff etc ... and I need only minor editing of the instruments I use Redrum...
If I have wavs, aiff, sound fonts, etc tec... and intend to edit them too much (filtering, pitching, modulation etc etc...) I use NNXT...
Somethimes I even use Subtracktor to synthetise drums

i mostly use Redrum, and then rex for my sampled groove loops...
all my ragga and hard-step style editing is done by hand (mouse)! I have no midi controller

We you load a rex into the NN-XT it auto maps each hit to a key |
upper one is about that....
