i been making drum and bass for a while now but ive never got this bass right, its that low filterd hard hitting sub used alot by dillinja.

ive used countless vsts and plugins to try and get it right but it just never sounds as good as the big time producers.

some methods ive tried....

using tube distortion vst's on a deep sub (the high end doesnt sound like it should)

using kick drum samples with a big release and sticking distortion an such on them (closet ive got to it so far but then u cant hold notes :/)

any help would be great, and if anyone knows good distortion plugins lemme know Smile

Tip: use tube distortion, but not a VSTi one, a hardware one Wink

Depends a bit on what you're going for, but them cheap guitar distortion units usually give very nice results!
