yo yo yo
first run through:
im feeling the spooky sounds in the intro. nice snare work on the intro beat.
wow. true to an avalanche, this baby drops out of no where!
i like the chaotic flow, especially within the 32 ct beat.
could use more punch on the kick though, either that or drop the treble a tad.
good breakdown around 3:20. kinda like the eye of the hurricane.
feels like more of the same on the outro tho. of course, it is tough to variate madness - and you do a good job keeping the energy up.
its subtle, but you sure chop the hell out of the beats after the 4 minute mark.
sweet little change up at 4:38
take two:
still feeling the snare work. if that is a loop, i hope you made it
if anything, this t00n needs a bass kick. i adjusted my EQ little for this listen and still its tough to make out anything.
the flow at 2:30 is my favourite part so far. it is also the least chaotic, and it sounds like you dropped the subs an octive. i bet this tune is pissing my neighbors off
overall:
its all presonal preference from here, since the track has a defined beginning, middle and end.
i like the frentic snare work, but feel a little pulse (bass kick) is in order to keep it going. i hear one back there but it gets lost in the shuffle.
its all good though.
the beat itself is not my cup of tea, and the bassline seems to roll on, but the energy is there, and that is vital.
to be honest, the contant stream of energy atones for repetition, if you follow me...
i have heard at least 3 of your tracks now, and you are improving with each one. that is saying something. it is so easy to get stuck in a rut, or hash out the same ideas over and over again.
def props to you. keep the ideas flowin.
peace.

Thanks for the input:
Turnstyles: ya the drum loops were made by me. There are single hit clips from two breaks I made ages ago layered with bd, sn and ghost hits from a Raiden break and the meterman break, then there are 2 extra snares, hi hats, tamb and another bd layered over it (different elements come in and out throughout the tune). I found that since once of my sub hits had quite a bit of mid - it was interfering with the bd and the compression drowns it out - I'll have to side chain that. This was an idea that got rolling, and very little time has been spent on eq (except for the reece and drum loop), or mixing - although it is leveled at 0bB with no clipping on any of the tracks. The intro I found to be a bit to bouncy and light - happy you found it to be evil - any other comments on this peeps? Thanks very much for the insightful comments - I'll be using them all when I finish this one up.
Equipped: When I posted this I just put a short blurb, but I should say that this is practically an equipped collabo since nearly all the sounds came from either "our day with the virus C" or the lfo madness wav you sent me. Thanks a bunch buddy - you are a master of sound creation - we can be sure the tracks won't sound like a rehashed collection of typical samples when Equipped is on the job of sound design!! The other sounds came from the amazing FSR Morphite (intro sounds) and various sub and percussive sampes affected in Kontact 2. And ya you're damn right buddy - the title comes from my raw throat this week - wish I could ram an avalanche down there to get relief.
Looking forward to seeing those pictures of the Gigantor show - (I told you I got an email from him after that right?) And man - that XM radio show should be in full effect for this summer - trying to get Illfingas (he did do a collabo with Gremlinz apparently), Slip and Slide the Soulscape guys from London on board. Would love your help (and any other solid dj's off this site as well - I'll start a seperate thread for this actually).
