anybody got any tips on creating hard, grainy bass in flstudio? the kind of bass you hear on "tarantula"? any tips would be great.

sorry, its by pendulum as sssonarrr said. i'm jus having trouble creating that hard pulsating bass that pendulum gets.

Or invent your own sound. It's a bad start for a tune if you try to make it sound exactly like someone elses IMO

not necessarily, could be very useful for picking up tricks.
btw pendulum sound has been rinsed dead for like a year now at least. try and come up with something new

IMO the only way you will achieve that kinda sound is by using hardcore layering samplers and ridiculous effects and all kinds of sick shit.
Surya has got the right idea...."sample one"
Then coat it in your own effects.
Not the most honest way mind you.
