Bigup

just tested this vst and i think it's plain rubbish... that sound is just awfull. I prefer my v-station & junglist for reece's

Yep. And there's no possibility to alter parameters, change presets,... it's just one sound unfortunately.

plus this dork of a vst is audible only on the left speaker
though, that's what it did here Big Grin

to surya
i might say one more thing to qbits reece guide Big Grin

cut the hi's aswell
i hate it when there is too much hi in basses
plus i resample the whole thing at 22.khz. which gives you that extra ruff edge without boosting and distroying your sound.
most peeps are skeptic about this but just try it.
i get quite good comments on basses i make so... try it. not written as boast but to motivate you guys to try it. ( i don't say it's the perfect way) but it sure helps me.

ofkorz this only works if you want to use the "reece" as a lead or pad-like sound.
to add a sub to your reece, copy your sound and lowpass one, leave the other untouched or fine tune your eq for a good ballance.

for distortion on reeces i use the quadra fuzz.
why fuzz? cuz it simply fuzzes your sound with a touch of grain, simply luv that sound through my moni's. distortion or overdrive can give a hum and/or clicks when the reece is heavy compressed, and thats imo what a good reece should be, compressed as fuck, hard & grinding and crisp if you want Smile

and to tech live
you should hear my sample swamp...
i bought gallions of sample disks from zero-g, hell yeah got even the reinforced one, ... seems like the uk heads buy them aswell, or the otherway around

but anyway, magicians also have their secrets.
fe. how the fuck did coperfield get his claudia :p
the dude looks like a mummy

i don't care where the samples come from, as long you use them correct and pay attention to the copyright.

I once downloaded a lot of Reece presets for Albino... They all sucked balls... Seems like it's hard to make a decent reece with only a synth...

REAKTOR!REAKTOR!REAKTOR!REAKTOR!REAKTOR!REAKTOR!REAKTOR!REAKTOR!REAKTOR!REA
KTOR!REAKTOR!REAKTOR!REAKTOR!REAKTOR!

If youve got version 5 and/or electronic instruments, the Carbon2 and Titan synths are madness! CPU intensive but great none the less.

Another way to get a reece style synth tone is with sine waves detuned in the usual manner, the through a bit crusher/reduction, then through filters etc, really dirty so watch yourself!

2 Saw wavs mixed with the second one detuned to almost half a semitone.

Add some PWM to both Osc controlled by a sine or saw LFO (play witht he LFO speed to your liking)

Add a Bandstop Filtor set around mid way and Modulate it with another LFO (Play with the LFO speed to your liking)

Modulate the LFO speed with Keyboard tracking (you will need to mess with the modulation ammount that is done)

If you have a second filtor, add a highpass or lowpass filtor to it and set the filtor mix to 1/2 way

If you have a third Osc or even better a Sub Osc then make it a triangle at -12 semitones for low end (if on a virus, the sub osc is not tunable, just leave it be)

Add some moderate distortion, a little phaser, a touch of chorus.

for Absynth :
file > new

Set POLY to 1

Click on PATCH

Set mode to DOUBLE

set wave to SAW REAL (this is the normal saw, the other saws there arent the same)

click MOD (on osc1)

set it's wave to SAW REAL

now double click in the value for TRANS and type -0.6 and press return

turn the filter on by clicking on the one at the bottom.

set mode to LPF -24DB

set HZ to 270

set the RES to 0.4700

now hit the note D#2

^^^ like that.....
