I remember a while ago there was a thread on here about production in the future. There were a lot of cool ish things but they didnt really seem to have any practical aplications aside from looking cool.
I dont know if any of you have seen this yet. Its a prototype of the new multizone touchscreens. This is insane. I want one so bad.

The hardware is just a big ass touchscreen, nothing too special about that. The real innovation here is the interface software! It must be great to work with a computer in this way. The thing with this kind of stuff is that you always see the cool concept videos, but never see something like it coming to the shops.

Hmm, classy is not the word Id use. Its a nice idea but it gets as drilling as hell after a short while. Ive seen that before a few times and Ive never been able to watch the video all the way through, it gets really boring after a while.
@DJfreemc. Its more than just a big touchscreen, its more the fact that it tracks more than one finger at once. If you tried using 2 fingers on a normal touchscreen, the cursor will jump around the screen. This screen allows you to use up to 8 fingers I think, although there is a point where 2 people are using it at the same time so it could be more.
@djakwiez. I see where you coming from. I think that a lot of people are too attached to the old Keyboard + mouse setup to ever take new things like this seriously. But thins is a shame. So many cool new things dont get the time of day yet the are probably far superiour to the old keyboards. I think the problem with old touchscreens is that they still;nrelied on an old OS which had been designed with mouse users in mind. You still had to click on the corner and drag to make a window larger while with this new screen they just stretch the window. I'll be interested to see how far this goes but I think that its something which should really take off. There has been a lot of companies developing this kinda stuff recently, NOT JUST MAC. They've just made theirs bigger (yey america!) and white and plasticy.
Heres another gadget that probably wont ever sell that much at $20 000, but apparently the company are sold out already. Yes it is real, and no its not an april fool or anything. Anyway, I wouldnt mind having one but my eyesite is bad enough as it is!

nah i doubt it... i mena the ipods that first came out are starting to breal...all my friends that have em are bustin on em..but none of the nanos or the minis have had problems...they only come with ilek a 2 yr warrantee though ya know...so theyre bound to break at some point...
gotta think though, this shit is state of the art technology...breaks or not... its some serious shit...
