Matt, this really is a great lil piece of work.. timing and transistion of different shots seems pro.
at first im puzzled , looking to find some meaning from the subtitles (perfectly timed), along with the soundtrack which creates an intense feeling, goes well with the black and white film.
it was only til the subtitle 'escape@ and the shot of the window that i started to get it and enjoy it more as it was fitting into my head, excellent ending chloe's performance was top aswell ,like the rockin back n forth scene lol
anywayz excellent deff wasnt expecting this from you, and watchin i i cant help but ask if you could do some great comedy short films , i bet you can maybe already have, if so hit me back with one or 2
really enjoyed this matt, big thanks
G

Thanks man, for the positive comments, Im really grateful. Im glad you got some ideas as to what its all about, obviously in my own head I have ideas and theories but I kinda wanted to keep it so that people could come to their own conclusions and make about whatever they want it to be about.
To be honest, its my first real foray into the world of film, Ive had ideas in my head and been picturing shots for months now but only just got down to actually shooting it.
I haven't done anymore as yet but ive got got lots of ideas so hopefully i'll start shooting another pretty soon. I'd like to do some sort of comedy but it will probably be quite a surreal sort of humor!
ps glad you liked the gosport pic!

I usualy don't like this kind of art, thus I won't say this is good or bad. I will say it was INTERESTING.
Nice concept, way too short (or maybe it's cut off?) for all the ideas, nice still image, along with that black&white technique.
I like it.
Keep on!

Thanks dude for looking at it objectively - Im glad that even though it's not neccesarily your thing, you were able to take something from it.
I did want it to be short - I felt the subject matter lent itself to something that would be very short but had a big impact. Im hoping that in the future im able to explore the themes and ideas I had for this short into something longer.
Also the production side of things is pretty heavy, as with all films I suppose, and really for my first film - i wanted to see results sooner rather than later. I didnt really want to spend months editing scenes and the soundtrack. Obviously I didnt go for ultra complexity in that department, but it still involves a fair bit of work. Its all enjoyable work though I might add
I think in retrospect after a watching it a few times, there are always gonna be a few things I could have done differently but thats the nature of creation I suppose. Overall I was pretty pleased with the result and am chomping at the bit to get the next one started!
