Hi folks

I have now started to rewire the drex loop player in reason with cubase after choping my beats up in recycle. And then launching the midi track in cubase.

When i chop my beats up in recycle, some times i save the files as 4 bars, 2 bars and 8 bars.

What is the best way to determine the number of bars, so that i can keep my loops in sync.

This is a new concept to me, so far i have worked out

12secs audio = 8bars
6 secs audio = 4 bars
3 secs audio = 2 bars

If i am wrong with this, i would be gratefull if anyone can correct me. I usally work at 170bpm.

Regards MJ

I always save for exapmle:

thabeats_4_135.rex

where the first figure tells how many bars, the second whats the bpm

I havent got a clue what you're talking about because I dont use reason but you can use one of the tools here to find out the "duration of a song based on tempo, beat and number of measures".

http://mp3.deepsound.net/eng/samples_calculs.php

According to it a 4 bar loop at 170bpm is 3.82 seconds, an 8 bar loop is 6.65 seconds and 16 bars is 11.29.
