Cynik´s right. You´re going to be low on memory causing your programs to slow down massively. If there isn´t any free memory available your computer will use a part of the harddisk as memory, but writing to/reading from the harddisk is much slower compared to those operations going on in RAM. Go for 1 GB of memory. Upto 2 GB the performance of your PC will improve big time. As for the graphic card, it will do.

You should also consider that you might be running windows Vista on this machine some day, this will be eating all your resources if you don´t invest in memory now.

Cool, for the upgrade ( i seriously dont know anything about computers, apart from internet and reason!) can I buy an external upgrade for the ram, or are you talking about a new computer?

also, does the fact that it is DDR ram mean anything, becuase though the specs recommended say 512 or whatever, wouldnt the fact taht it says DDR mean that the number is smaller but in effect it is ok>?

thanks again

the DDR is just the type of memory, shortcut for dual-something-ram so supposedly it's twice as fast than the older SDR.

the number after it, in your case 256 means the amount of it, 256 MB = 1/4 GB.

you don't have to buy a new computer, for a hundred euros or less you can purchase one GB module and insert it yourself, or call a mate to help. maybe the people at the store can help you too.

but yeah, maybe you should go with 2 GB imediately. with my 1 GB I feel constantly underpowered and find myself occasionally waiting for the mentioned disk swapping to finish, which is really fucking annoying and seriously hinders creatitivity

It kind of depends on which VSTs you're using and how many machines you've dumped into Reason...

Dunno, I just stick to plain Reason. Works for me. And more CPU friendly...
