How do you do it?
or is it possible?
i'm making some 4-4 track and i want to get that kick stand more out, without the track getting distorted..

I've not got fl installed at the minute so I've just copied this from spinwarp..

quote:
1. wire a Fruity Peak Controller to your kick drum and make sure you disable the mute buttopn so you can still hear it.

2. insert a compressor on the bass line and wire the gain control to the peak level of the kick. To do this, right click the gain knob on the compressor and select "link o controller" and select the Peak Level.

3. tweak the base and vol knobs on the peak controller to get the right mix.

can you do this to in the other way
i mean that if there's a peak the gain decreses in stead of increasing?

I'm pretty certain the volume should decrease when sidechaining, for example radio djs use sidechaining to lower the volume when they're speaking.. However, if you turn the Peak Controller's volume knob to the right (the middle is 0%) it should make the volume increase instead.

if you want the kikc to stand out you have to learn to edit out all the bottem end from the tracks taht don't need to have bottem end in them. notch out a from them from the 500hz area as well. compress the kick like fuck also. layer on another kick with no bottem end. you can make a kick stand out from 3 guitars a bass and 2 keyboard players with a whole drum set being played, if you compress and eq the bitch properly.

sidechain is used for radio when they talk and the music ducks down.
