Hi Folks
I have been pluggin away with cubase sx for a bit and enjoying every minute of it, how ever i have a quick question on samples.
When i normally create a beat i work with 4 bars, the problem is when i use a pre made sample from ie Garage band cd pack, some of the loops i time strech to fit the bpm of the track, however the loops can go slightly over 4 bars sometimes up to 5 bars.
How would i make a loop fit into four bars ie shrink it to a specific set lenth of bars.
I always slice my beats with hit points when i time strech them to 170bpm.
Any help would be much aprciated.
Regards
MJ

If you want to change the grid to suit your sample, use the time warp tool. If you want to time compress/expand use use the "sizing applies time stretch" option for the pointer tool. (#1 at the top of the keyboard cycles through the options). If you have "snap to grid" on then it will always make the sample the desired size so long as the right grid is selected and the sample is cut properly.
Personally I don't use this for beats, I prefer to process in Recycle and load the .RX2 into kontact triggering it with a midi track. I find it gives me more options.
Hope that helps.
